

SPEED TRAINING?
Speed workouts are important for youth athletes, to increase speed on the field play. No matter if the game lasts 30, 45, or 60 minutes, all athletes need to be able to perform a series of sprints in every direction nearly every play. As sports continue to progress and move at a faster pace, youth athletes need to be fast.
At this level, S&S Training will focus on breaking down athletes individual strengths and focus giving them growth in:

Linear Speed: Straight-ahead acceleration and top-speed running techniques.

Multi-Directional Speed: Agility and ability to decelerate and move in any direction quickly.

Upper and Lower Body Strength: Strength training exercises for muscle development and injury prevention.
S&S builds on an athlete’s physical foundation and refines their skills in order for them to maximize their strength, aerobic and/or sport specific training. Athlete’s will also learn the skills and conditioning necessary to help prevent injuries through various warm-ups, exercises and techniques.
It's been found that many experts view the ages of 10 – 18 as the most ideal age for developing speed, strength and power over an athlete’s entire lifetime. With that potential in mind during S&S the focus for the athlete becomes centered on the detailed and critical specifics that are the basis for athletic success, in order to develop into a exceptional athlete.


STRENGTH TRAINING?
Sports are all about power. Power is the explosiveness when you’re hitting, throwing, sprinting, jumping, and making contact with opponents. Strength training allows youth athletes to protect their joints and aids in preventing injury. S&S Training will help develop that sport-specific power, teaching youth athletes the proper technique to lift weight effectively. We test and provide feedback on youth athletes explosiveness. The S&S training program are customize to effectively grow youth athletes athletic development.
A common myth or statement is that resistance or weight training is dangerous for young athletes. Currently a mass amount of medical research has found that nothing could be further from the truth. Youth resistance training helps athletes:

Properly programmed strength training is a crucial element in developing powerful speed for today’s athlete. S&S will focus on building strength relative to body weight so that athletes will:

Reinforce understanding of the proper form for the squat, deadlift, bench press and more

Perform properly progressed and regressed movements as well as program variations for optimal strength development and athletic performance.
